Diana Kotb’s fashion fixation was inevitable: as a child, she was surrounded by master seamstresses and a extremely creative mother who custom made her outfits for every occasion

After completing a Communications Degree and a Fashion Design and Business course, Kotb, embarked on a 10 year career in the fashion industry working for a number of top Australian Fashion Designers. Kotb then moved to Australia’s number one fashion magazine, Marie Claire where she spent four years. “Working at Marie Claire was one of the best experiences of my life. Where else could you collaborate with undoubtably the best stylists and editors in the country”.

However, after leaving Marie Claire to start a family and having two beautiful girls, her desire to launch her own label was increasing. “At Marie Claire, I spent a lot of time working with luxury brands and garments. Admiring the quality of the fabric, finishes, construction and the direction in which they shaped the industry. As a muslim woman who wears the hijab, not only was it difficult to find modest clothing, but virtually impossible to find luxury designer modest wear. It just didn’t exist. Well not until Diana Kotb, the Label was born“.

When asked where she draws her inspiration, Kotb smiles. “I have this really strong image of who the Diana Kotb woman is and I design and source information for her everyday. She is fiercely captivating, intelligent, cool and supremely feminine. A natural born leader, she appreciates exquisitely cut and tailored garments, easy elegance and polished opulence.  As she evolves as a woman, so to does Diana Kotb, the label”.
