BRITISH VOGUE DESIGNER FEATURE

Posted on

I am delighted to finally share with you this Designer Profile featuring Diana Kotb in the May Issue of British Vogue.

I have been waiting patiently for the hard copy but due to the boarder closures, it is taking a lot longer than expected, so a soft copy will suffice.

Thank you British Vogue for including me in your May Issue. We have worked extremely hard over the years to establish an ethical and sustainable luxury womenswear label for Modest women. To have British Vogue recognise your work, is a dream come true!

I am so honoured to have been acknowledged by such an iconic institution and I look forward to many more features!

Showroom Temporary Closure

Posted on

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all well and safe in this surreal moment in history.

So much has changed in such a small amount of time, I felt it necessary to stop, pause and re-evaluate. It has always been my method of coping with the world around me and it still serves so valuably today.

In the space of a week and a half, an enormous amount has changed. We are reminded that nothing is permanent, that our plans for the coming weeks, months, year ahead do not always come to fruition, and human beings are more adaptable then we give ourselves credit.

Today, I spent my last day for a while, in the Diana Kotb showroom.

Not only is it my sanctuary where my creations hang on racks and mere ideas become reality, but it is also my place to be me, to do what I love, to share what I love, with the people I love.

My team and my dearly loved customers are my top priority, and as such, I have made the very hard decision to close the Diana Kotb showroom temporarily.

The Diana Kotb online store is open to shop, to dream, to take a retreat from the pandemonium and to feel inspired.

As such, all Domestic and International orders will be granted FREE SHIPPING using COUPON CODE “SHIP4FREE”.

It is with a heavy heart that I leave my creative retreat for now, but I know it is the right thing to do when there are so many people I love at risk of this despicable virus.

I will stay at home for them.

Right now, I hope you find calmness in this chaotic world, find kindness when you feel you are helpless in this plight, and enjoy the gifts that Allah swt has given us.

We are all so blessed.

If there is anything I can do to help ease your stress or make life feel a little more “normal” please reach out via email info@dianakotb.com, Instagram or Facebook and give us some suggestions.

I look forward to welcoming you all back to the Diana Kotb Showroom with a huge hug and plenty of chitter-chatter.

With love,

To my DK Family,

As a community, we are facing an unprecedented challenge with the spread of COVID-19, also known as novel coronavirus.

Here at Diana Kotb, the well-being and safety of our family, including you all, is our top priority.

With that in mind, as the Covid-19 impact continues, we will closely monitor the Advice from the World Health Organisation as well as the Australian health authorities.

We have also put the following hygiene and cleaning measures in place:

  • Strict hygiene practices to include disinfecting high touch areas. These are change rooms, counter spaces, and door handles after every appointment.
  • Providing hand sanitiser at the front counter which we encourage all our customers to use.
  • Limiting physical contact.

At this stage, we have decided the Showroom will remain open.

The showroom is open from 10am – 3pm Monday to Friday.

However, to limit contact between customers, we do advise you send us an email info@dianakotb.com or a Direct Message via Instagram before you arrive.

Online ordering will continue to operate as normal in terms of fulfilling orders and shipping them as quickly as possible.

As we know it is a tricky time to travel, we have introduced a SHIP4FREE coupon which can be used to ease the pressure.

This is a FREE SHIPPING COUPON for all local and international standard orders. Please enter the Coupon Code at checkout.

If you require SAME DAY DELIVERY and you live in the Sydney Metropolitan area, we have couriers available who will deliver the goods to your door with minimal contact. Please send us an email info@dianakotb.com for more information.

We are committed to doing everything we can, to help make this period a little easier.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via email info@dianakotb.com and one of our customer services representatives will assist you as soon as possible.

Please stay safe and take care. We are all in this together.

With love,

The Art of Wearing Lilac

Posted on

Wearing a pop of colour can be daunting to many people. But done well, it can significantly improve your mood and your confidence.

Today, I am delving into a colour that has shown no signs of leaving the runways. That colour, is the delectable Lilac.

Lilac, a pale pinkish-violet colour is commonly associated with the colour for which a European shrub is named. In the fashion world however, it is the colour everyone is wearing; whether it be Spring/Summer or Autumn/ Winter.

How to Wear Lilac
If you are afraid of wearing head-to-toe lilac, the best way of incorporating this must have seasonal colour, is with a little injection. Try wearing lilac with a pair of jeans, a white tee or collared shirt and a Lilac blazer or knit.

During the warmer weather, try a lightweight dress with sandals.

During Autumn and Winter, layer your dress with a different shade of Lilac or a nude cardigan, sweater or coat.

With so many variants, layering this feminine colour will look stunning and surprisingly understated.

Complimentary Colours

I love the idea of wearing nude with my lilac garments.

A nude hijab, jacket, a nude boot and bag, will work beautifully.

Recommended: The Lagoon Dress in Lilac.

The Art of a Tea Dress

Posted on
Diana Kotb Seeker Dress.

Pretty prints, pops of colour and a relaxed silhouette?

It is definitely time for a Tea Dress.

What was traditionally a casual dress you wore at home whilst having tea, is now a wardrobe life saver that can be worn in multiple settings, all year round.

What is a Tea Dress?

A Tea Dress was traditionally a loose fitted, unstructured dress, with short sleeves and a three-quarter length hemline.

It is typically made of light weight fabric in pretty feminine prints and pops of colour. It is versatile and suitable for all body types. The Tea Dress can be worn everywhere with the varied sleeve lengths, hemlines and different silhouettes.

Wardrobe Wonder Dress

The Tea Dress is an essential dress in every wardrobe.

It is the perfect dress to wear as the varied silhouettes and sizes, guarantees, you will find one that suits your body shape.

It is also incredibly versatile as it can be dressed up or down depending on your accessories and make-up. As the Tea Dress typically is made from busy prints, I would suggest that you don’t over-style the outfit or add too many accessories.

The Allrounder of Dresses

Where can you wear a Tea Dress? Well for Tea of course!

Depending on how you style the dress, it can be worn everywhere from work, to the shops, lunch, school pick-up, a dinner date and a wedding.

How to wear Tea Dress?

The Tea Dress is the ideal trans-seasonal piece to have in your wardrobe.

In the warmer climate, I would suggest you wear your tea dress with flat sneakers, sandals or espadrilles during the day, and heels at night. There is no need to add any extra layers to the look during Spring and Summer.

As the climate cools down however, styling your Tea Dress is a game of layers. I love layering mine with a turtle neck worn underneath, a cardigan, blazer or a long length coat. Finish this look with a pair of boots and some delicate jewellery.

Recommended: The Carousel Dress, The Seeker Dress and The Opera Dress.
